NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Penn State New Kensington will host its annual Research and Student Engagement Expo alongside its Career Connections Day, located inside the campus’ Athletics Center, on April 15, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The Research and Student Engagement Expo, co-chaired by Amy Rustic and Penelope Morrison, celebrates the persistence, creativity and academic excellence involved with undergraduate research. Accompanied by their faculty mentors, Penn State New Kensington students have presented on topics such as "Women’s Rights and Health in Afghanistan," "Cryptococaryon Irritans in Fish," and "Interventional Radiography in Veterinary Practice." Nearly 50 projects were featured at the 2023-24 Student Engagement Expo, of which 10 students were awarded the University Libraries Undergraduate Research Award for their excellence in information literacy.
Prior to the exposition, students will have opportunities to network, explore career pathways, and present their academic work to faculty and potential employers during Career Connections Day.
